Meet Our Staff
Joanne Engle – Office Manager
I was born in Chicago and graduated from Mother McAuley High School in Chicago. I attended Indiana University where I met my husband. We married before our senior year and graduated in 1970. While Bob was attending Indiana University Dental School in Indianapolis, I taught science and earned my Masters of Education from Indiana University in 1973.
Following his graduation from Dental School, Bob entered the Air Force and we moved to Scott Air Force base, outside of St. Louis, where we had our first daughter Julie. While he was serving in the Air Force I taught Science at Mascoutah Junior High School.
He completed his Service in 1976 and we moved to Morris, Illinois. During the first years of his practice, I worked at the office, as a dental assistant and receptionist.
We had our second daughter, Jill, and when she was five, I felt the need to go back to teaching. I began substitute teaching at Morris High School and 4 years later I was made the Boy’s and Girl’s Head Swim Team Coach. Twenty –three years later they offered me a teaching position, and I have been teaching and coaching swimming since then. I am still very much involved at the office where I work Saturdays and oversee the office as the office manager.
I have served my community as the treasurer and president of the Morris Hospital Auxiliary, Girl Scout leader for 18 years, and a volunteer swim coach for the age group swim team. I am also a Red Cross volunteer for well over 20 years, teaching lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid, and swimming lesson to the youth of Morris.
